Located between the Louvre and Les Halles, Pico’s forest green façade gives way to a minimalist coffee shop (bare walls, blonde wood, hanging globe light fixtures) filled with toned bodies and flat bellies who haven’t completely forgone culinary pleasures. Taken to go or eaten in house in the tiny dining room or on the terrace: yummy homemade granola with farm-fresh yogurt and seasonal fruit; pre-Brexit scones with clotted cream and jam; a beautiful bun filled with roasted eggplant, organic mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula, fresh basil and tapenade; healthy avocado toast with preserved lemon on sourdough bread from Circus; a perfectly seasoned kale salad; addictive chocolate and tahini banana bread – or even a delicious tart topped with ricotta, raspberries, blackberries and redcurrants. // C.C.
