In the early summer months of 2019, it was an honor to order a salad from the owner dressed in such a beautiful button-up, whose elegant blue floral patterns, authentically designed and sewn in Honolulu in the 1950s, make the mediocre Hawaiian-inspired prints pumped out by the giants of fast fashion pale in comparison. As for the incredible salad (called a “bowl”) selected from the 100% vegan menu, there were striking organic and sometimes gluten-free flavors: al dente red quinoa, roasted yellow zucchini tagliatelle, roasted corn kernels, pickled onions, romesco sauce. It’s good, it’s beautiful, it’s fresh. Vegetarian add-ons are available too (goat cheese, soft-boiled eggs), for anyone who hasn’t yet joined the vegan train. As for dessert, there’s a flawless carrot cake (€4.90).
FEELING THIRSTY? Give the “shot bien-être” (€4) a try, which is obviously not caramel vodka, but a really concentrated fresh ginger juice which is full of antioxidants and active ingredients, and messes you up in a similar way. They also have cold-pressed juice (€5.50 for 250 ml) and golden lattes (€5.50).
PRICE: Set menus €14 (sandwich + dessert) and €17 (bowl + dessert), à la carte €19-28.
