Best home cinema Guide 2008
There’s no popcorn for sale at the Panthéon movie theater, but there is a restaurant upstairs that’s worth a visit. When the sun’s out, take a seat around one of the bright red and yellow metal tables on the verdant terrace, or if not, make the most of the cozy apartment-like dining room – decorated by Catherine Deneuve herself – for a bite to eat: delicious spinach and piment d’Espelette quiche or a salad (grated yellow and orange carrots, orange juice, sunflower oil and seeds, or cucumber, feta, olives, cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar). As for the sweets, indulge in an all-chocolate cake or a matcha-sesame cheesecake. And to wash it all down? Les Bornés, a white Menetou-Salon from the Domaine Pellé (€6 a glass), ginger and spice cocktails or an aloe vera infusion (€6). À la carte €27-32. Reservations are recommended at lunch. // S.G.
