There’s zero frivolity (frasca in Italian) at this den of cool camped out near the Jardin de Luxembourg. Inside, Mathilde Froment and Roland Theimer, who both used to work at Maison Maison, brighten up our taste buds with their natural Latin wines and Mediterranean dishes in a wood-clad space. For us, the night we went: lovely sardines dressed simply in vinegar; mussels bathed in an Athenian jus of white wine, preserved lemon and persillade; gigantic veal porchetta with taggiasche olives and oregano from Pantelleria; cheeky pork chops marinated in pomegranate molasses; before a good Meyer lemon tart. During the week, the lunch menu follows in the same vein – eg.: Treviso salad in an anchovy vinaigrette; stewed lentils with feta and caramelized onions; Buddha’s hand pannacotta. // G.LeP.

FEELING THIRSTY? There’s prosecco from Villa Teresa (€6 a glass),sparkling wine from Cantina Furlani (€35 a bottle), an explosive Greek red from Sclavos (€44)…
