Every day is like Carne Festival at this restaurant owned by Antonin Bonnet, the dizzyingly talented Lyon-born chef of Quinsou! Because in addition to dealing out top-quality meats in the nearby butcher shop he bought in 2019, the eco-friendly chef now puts a modern twist on his cuisine. The general vibe? Small plates circulate around several tables on the terrace in front of the turn-of-the-century space (painted panels, marble, hollowed out butcher’s blocks). The day we went for lunch, we dug into a winning trio of deviled eggs topped with Korean chili powder and anchovies; a classic fennel-spiced sausage roll with walnut ketchup; precious pencil leeks with whole hazelnuts, dressed in a satiny vinaigrette; a traditional pork and poultry pâté en croûte dotted with pistachios; a hot dang hot dog made with the house herbed sausage and a sprinkling of marinated radishes in a small golden bun spread with a layer of kimchi; before a perfect sage and vanilla crème caramel. Worth knowing: the house also does take-away and delivery! // A.A.

FEELING THIRSTY? Quinsou has it all figured out, all the way down to the house beers infused with bergamot or toast (€7 for 330 ml). Plus, there are a few organic wines on offer, including a Saumur red from L’Austral (€7 a glass) and a Sancerre white from Sébastien Riffault (€45 a bottle).

PRICE: Plates €5-18.
