Gangnam’s making a second cool-kitsch impact! After becoming one of the most-watched music videos in the history of the internet, Gangnam is now also a Parisian Korean BBQ joint that borrows its name from a cushy neighborhood in Seoul. The black faux-marble, ropes dangling from the ceiling and a wall of fake plants all draw the eye, while electric stoves sit in the center of each table. So get stuck in and grill up Korean style your choice of appetizing cuts of meat (pork with a spicy sauce, sliced steak, marinated chicken breast…), along with mushrooms and vegetables, all with the help of the smiling staff. Plus, there are tasty sides (kimchi, sweet peanuts, slow-roasted new potatoes…), a whole young cockerel stuffed with rice, ginseng and herbs, and a few industrial desserts that you should avoid. // A.A.
FEELING THIRSTY? Korean tea (lemon, ginger, jujube, aloe vera… €5), and plenty of alcohol: soju (€4 a glass), mehwasoo (plum liqueur, €4), or for those who are a little hesitant to try new things, an unidentified Beaujolais-Villages (€17 a bottle).
PRICE: Appetizers €7-12, grilled meats €18-21, young cockerel €23, desserts €4-7.
