“Miettes”? As in crumbs? Yes! Like the little pieces that fall off the crispy croissants served in this excellent coffee shop! Here you’ll find Mathieu, the owner, who trained under the very best pastry chefs (Jacques Genin, Hugo & Victor) and who has a real talent for making dough… In addition to the iconic croissants (€1.80), there are some plump turnovers filled with apple compote (€3.50), a sexy, flaky praline-hazelnut roulé (€3.50) or even one of the best flans in Paris – €4, but only on Saturdays! These incredible little treats will have you glued to the edge of your pretty birchwood bench. The perfectly Instagrammable Ethiopian coffees from Kaldi (Montreuil) show off their pretty hearts, which are made with love by Laure. And don’t forget the lunchtime comfort food: carrot/turmeric/pumpkin seed quiche with salad, parsnip/cauliflower/hazelnut soup… Dishes from €8 to €9.90, coffees from €2.40 to €5. // J.G.
