Café Chilango

If, like Luis Mariano, you’re dreaming about the Mexican sun, head to this nice little taqueria (brick walls and azulejos, colorful flags, reggae music playing in the background) created by Luis and Rodrigo, two Mexican Parisians who decided to give the cuisine of their childhood roots in Paris. What should you expect? Tacos with fresh fillings (queso fresco with sheep’s milk cheese, red cabbage and refried black beans, €3.30; shredded chicken or pork, €3.50), a fiery “choriqueso” (corn tortillas that you dip into a mixture of melted cheese poured over chorizo, with cilantro and avocado, €15), Mexican beers (Modelo or Sol, €6-8) and euphoria-inducing cocktails like the lively house Margarita or the fresh Chicharito with cucumber and mezcal (€10 each).
