THE STORY: With Jules and Jim, the hearts strings get pulled in both directions. To the left: the Jules building, a former atelier for the processing of restored precious metals, typical of the Vieux Marais. To the right, the brand new Jim wing, whose bedrooms on the eighth floor have panoramic views of all of Paris. The two share nonetheless a pronounced taste for luxurious materials (walnut woodwork, glass, stone and raw concrete), the ultra-comfort of their guests (particularly careful sound and light proofing) and the eco-futurist details (13 rooms lined with Hi-Macs® backlighting, a mix of stone and resin). The hyphen between the two “Js,” a cosy bar, cleverly subdued lighting, that offers a beautiful selection of wines, champagnes and well put together cocktails, and a superb cobblestone courtyard with a big exterior fireplace for winter nights. Rooms from €190 to €400.

BREAKFAST: €20 with fresh fruit juice (apple, grapefruit, orange), Palais des thés tea, Nespresso coffee, hot chocolate, and buffet with breads and viennoiseries from Benjamin Turquier, Stéphan Perrotte jams, organic chestnut honey, Bordier comté, fromage blanc and fresh yogurt, dried fruits, cereals, cheese assortment, ham, eggs, fresh fruit salad and fruit bowl.
LITTLE LUXURY: Geoffroy, one of the two bosses of the hotel, will take you for a spin in the streets of Paris in his iconic Citroën DS from 1961 (€190 for a one and a half hour tour for one to three people).
