Sister Midnight

Sister Midnight (Paris)

This bar is no bigger than a glove compartment, but one that’s meant for studded leather gloves at that! Joseph Boley and Jen Riley (Red House) are stirring up some sirocco rock vibes inside their Sister Midnight, named after the Iggy Pop and David Bowie hit. Black lacquer, peacock blue, faux leopard print and a disco ball evoke memories of Roxy Music’s classy glam, while the playlist takes a more open bar approach: The Cramps, Suicide, Blondie, Lou Reed, Talking Heads… Plenty to groove to, with one of twelve well-crafted creations in hand, including the Colombe sans plumes (tequila, mezcal, Aperol, Pampelle, lime, seltzer water and piment d’Espelette, €11) or a tangy and fresh Gimlet (gin, bergamot syrup and lemon, €11), also available as a mocktail (€7). To soothe your munchies: English platters with aged cheddar, 18-month Comté, fresh radishes and marinated egg (€12). // A.B.
