Amongst the tattoo and manga shops on rue Keller, the Lone Palm is an elegant modernist desert oasis: sixties-inspired barstools, low rosewood tables, an emerald mosaic bar, a 100% vinyl surf rock soundtrack…. To drink, bartenders Cédric Caer and Benoit Le Petit (Tiki Lounge) mix classics from the 1950s (Dirty Martini) and their own creations, like the delicately spicy Salton Sea (Calle 23 tequila infused with peppers and cilantro, agave liqueur, falernum syrup, lemon and green Tabasco), the fresh Lone Palm (dill-infused Beefeater gin, Thai basil syrup, lime, ginger beer) for €10 and the Virgin Palm Springs with pineapple cordial, aromatic basil and tangy lime juice (€7). // A.B.
